In July 2025, we hinted at something quietly underway:

A strategic step quietly secured. The first of several collaborative moves begins. By aligning global standards with local capability, we strengthen not just systems… we strengthen people.

This month, we confirm that one of those collaborative steps has taken shape.

IC Colt is proud to formally announce our strategic partnership with SHEVS (Pty) Ltd, one of the Western Cape’s most respected ventilation operators, founded by industry veteran Richard Goodland.

This partnership represents more than a business agreement. It signals the next phase in our national rollout strategy to recalibrate fire safety in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Why SHEVS? Because trust is earned.

Over decades, Richard and his team have built longstanding relationships with architects, consulting engineers, and procurement teams across the Cape. That credibility cannot be bought or imported. It must be aligned.

By combining SHEVS’ regional insight with the global certification and design support of IC Colt SSA and Kingspan Light + Air International, we’ve created a delivery model that protects standards, supports jobs, and strengthens local skills.

Together, we’ve already begun tender participation and project work, ensuring that every specification and installation aligns with EN 12101 certification protocols, not just what the market has been allowed to get away with.

And yes, we’re doing it with our sleeves rolled up –

  • Working through the detail from procurement to specification.
  • Offering local pricing and certified systems where possible.
  • And ensuring every project follows the IC Colt Sub-Saharan Africa Operational Pathway, from drawing support through to compliance-led handover.
This is what we mean by responsible growth.

We chose to work with those who’ve stayed in the ring. Who know what it means to win back trust after years of ambiguity in the system.

SHEVS isn’t a stepping stone. They’re a strategic partner in a wider mission: to bring certified, long-term fire safety solutions to the continent.
